It is interesting to know that in our country, bereavement leaves are not specifically entitled to employees. This can leave a person wondering just what are Bereavement Laws here in the U.S. Apparently, there are none because this policy is created only by companies to show their support to their valued employees and laborers. In general, there are various traditions coming from different cultures regarding their practices during the funeral and mourning period. In the effort not to offend the cultures of their employees, the State gave no specifics about laws on bereavement. If one would ask what are the bereavement laws, then he or she would have to go through the process of researching the various
bereavement policies of different companies. In this modern and technological day, the bereavement policies are created to show support and concern to their valued employees and are used to retain and attract employees to remain in the company and be productive. Bereavement Laws of different companies are thoroughly reviewed by the management and the human resource personnel in order not offend any culture or religion of their employees nor sacrifice the operation of the company. If you are recently employed to a new company, it is important to know very well the benefits a policy and what are bereavement laws.
Almost all company will be able to give three to five days of leave when an employee’s loved one dies and sometimes these days are specifically stated if these are granted with pay.
